About PATH

People Acting Together in Howard (PATH) is a broad-based community power organization rooted in Howard County’s neighborhoods and congregations. We are non-partisan, multi-faith, multi-racial, and dedicated to making our county and state a better place to live and thrive.

You’ll find us working for change: door-to-door and in living rooms, in churches and classrooms, in front of the County Council and at the State House in Annapolis.

PATH began in 2006 when clergy and lay leaders came together to discuss how to address the growing pressures on families in their congregations.

PATH believes in the ability of people to take leadership and transform their communities. PATH is committed to training and developing neighborhood leaders so that they can change the economic and social structures that affect their lives. We believe in building for power: power that is reciprocal, that is tempered by our religious traditions, and power that creates a table that includes more people in the dynamics of public life.
